A light-hearted and unusual take on the Christmas idea of being good and behaving well. “ Please Father Christmas cut me some slack Tell me there’s something for me in your sack”
Please Father Christmas, cut me some slack Tell me there’s something for me in your sack I haven’t been good, and I haven’t been kind But I’m not any worse than the rest of mankind.
I’ve sneaked down the pub when I said that I wouldn’t I’ve eaten the wrong things; I knew that I shouldn’t I’ve put the wrong bag in the wrong coloured bin I’ve said I’d be out when I knew I’d be in.
So, please Father Christmas, cut me some slack Tell me there’s something for me in your sack I haven’t been good, and I haven’t been kind But I’m not any worse than the rest of mankind.
I’ve mixed up the dates more than just once or twice I’ve said something funny that wasn’t too nice But in spite of all this I try to be good And do all the things that I know that I should.
So, please Father Christmas, cut me some slack Tell me there’s something for me in your sack I haven’t been good, and I haven’t been kind But I’m not any worse than the rest of mankind.
I’ll try to make sure I eat my 5 a day And I won’t get annoyed if I don’t get my way I’ll smile and I’ll laugh when something goes wrong And I’ll clean out the shed; it won’t take very long.
So, please Father Christmas, cut me some slack Tell me there’s something for me in your sack I haven’t been good, and I haven’t been kind But I’m not any worse than the rest of mankind.
