Lyrics

Please Father Christmas, cut me some slack
Tell me there’s something for me in your sack
I haven’t been good, and I haven’t been kind
But I’m not any worse than the rest of mankind.

I’ve sneaked out to play when I said that I wouldn’t
I ate all those sweets though I knew that I shouldn’t
I’ve opened my eyes when they should have been closed
And I think I saw Rudolph, or something that glows.

Please Father Christmas, cut me some slack
Tell me there’s something for me in your sack
I haven’t been good, and I haven’t been kind
But I’m not any worse than the rest of mankind.

I’ve called people names when I should have made friends
And I should have tried harder to just make amends
But in spite of all this I try to be good
And do all the things that I know that I should.

Please Father Christmas, cut me some slack
Tell me there’s something for me in your sack
I haven’t been good, and I haven’t been kind
But I’m not any worse than the rest of mankind.

I’ll try to make sure I eat my 5 a day
And I won’t get annoyed if I don’t get my way
I’ll smile and I’ll laugh when something goes wrong
And I’ll clean up my room; it won’t take very long.

Please Father Christmas, cut me some slack
Tell me there’s something for me in your sack
I haven’t been good, and I haven’t been kind
But I’m not any worse than the rest of mankind.
